I have called Palmer and Negaunee Township home my whole life. I was born in Ishpeming, raised in Palmer, and now reside in Negaunee Township. I attended Negaunee Public Schools for elementary, middle, and high school, and graduated from Northern Michigan University, twice.
I grew up in a low-income family. As it stands, both of my parents were seriously injured in accidents before I was 14 years old. Luckily, I have a really strong support system; my grandparents, aunts and uncles, and cousins have always been there to help. You know what they say: it takes a village. Out of the darkness of my parents' accidents, came much light. At a young age, I was responsible, independent, and motivated. Thus, I was the first in my family to attend and graduate college.
For the last 10 years, I have been working in the legislative branch of government: at the state and federal levels. I served as an aide to former Representative Steve Lindberg. Most recently I have served as the Upper Peninsula regional manager to U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow. I have witnessed the power of our democratic government at work. And it only works when people truly have their voices heard. I want to be your voice. I would like to be your next 109 th District State Representative.
